In Loving Memory of Rich Roybal

The Montana District of Royal Rangers tearfully celebrates the homegoing of one of the most godly men this ranger leader has ever had the privilege of calling friend and brother.

Monday, September 13, 1999 Commander Rich "Standing Buffalo" Roybal died while doing one of his favorite things: fishing.

Rich loved the boys, his two sons, his beloved wife, Judy and most of all, his Lord and Savior.

Rich served his country in the Army for three years, 14 months of that in Vietnam. He served his Savior in rangers for 27 years. He was laid to rest with full honors.

During his time in rangers, Rich never missed a Pow Wow. Ranger Mountain will be strangely empty without his ever-present smile, as will his home church.

Please pray for Judy and his sons, Tony and Roger.

We will miss him terribly.

After Glow

I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.
